TWO CRITICAL HUMAN RIGHTS ANNIVERSARIES IN 2018

In Europe in the 1920s and 1930s it was considered a matter of “opinion” and “politics” whether or not Jewish humans had equal rights with other humans. America had enough of this bigotry to fill the huge venue of Madison Square Garden in New York City for a Nazi Rally in 1939 (See the photo with the big Nazi Swastika at the end of "The World's Most Famous Arena"). The very essence of bigotry is in not treating all humans as of equal worth nor of equal rights. Speaking as a scholar of Human Rights History and of the bigotry past and present which denies Equal Human Rights to All Humans, and coming myself from an ethnic and religious group which suffered the bigotry of one of history’s biggest and most murderous genocides of millions, I urge Pro-Choice readers to remember that bigots are not only brutal Nazi thugs or slave-owners with whips or insensitive cads. Bigots can be otherwise very “nice” and even “compassionate” – but only to those humans whom they recognize as humans with equal value and rights as themselves. What makes them bigots is that (just like Pro-Choice bigots), they deny equal human preciousness and Equal Human Rights to some humans, which is the very essence of bigotry. What makes such bigotry extremely dangerous to Free Democracy for everyone is that (as my books demonstrate), our whole free and democratic Western way of life is precisely built on equal human preciousness and the Inherent Human Right to Live, which were first effectively and legally recognized in the 4th Century with the original criminalization of abortion and infanticide because the West learned at that time that without exception human life is not cheap, serving a greater State, as had been normal worldwide, but that human life is precious, and the State is obligated to protect (and ultimately serve) all precious human lives.

But the ancient and implicit foundations of modern freedoms were never perfectly implemented and over the centuries became taken for granted and were gradually forgotten. So, in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s it was considered just a matter of “opinion” and “politics” whether or not Jewish humans had equal rights with other humans. As with prior American slave-owning families (who might be nice enough people generally, but were still bigots because they just didn’t “get” that Black humans were equally as precious as White humans), so European bigots (generally “nice” or not) just did not explicitly understand nor hold the equal human preciousness without exception implicitly underlying all Western Free Democracy.
 

So, when a bigoted political party that did not believe in equal human preciousness got into political power, they initiated a political process of gradually taking away the rights of Jewish humans (and disabled/handicapped humans, a political process including the legalization and encouragement of both abortion and euthanasia targeting the disabled. They used the excuse that this was “to prevent suffering,” but of course the real reason was their bigotry against disabled/handicapped lives as of less value than other humans). After being legally devalued by the government, Jewish and disabled/handicapped humans were eventually rounded up and killed in the millions by the bigots who did not believe in Democracy-grounding Equal Human Rights for All Humans. These Nazi bigots also arrested and jailed those who dared to speak verifiable truth about the legal human-killing, or who stood up for the rights of the humans who had been legally devalued by the government and legally killed in the millions. Similarly today, preborn humans (exactly like every one of us at their age) have been legally devalued by the government and legally killed in the millions by bigots who do not believe in Democracy-grounding Equal Human Rights for All Humans. These Pro-Choice bigots in political power have similarly passed laws that arrest and jail those who dare to speak verifiable truth about the legal human-killing, or who dare to stand up for the Inherent Human Right to Live of those humans who have been legally devalued by the government and legally killed in the millions. Under current laws passed by officially Pro-Choice political parties in my country, this author (non-partisan thinker, logician and Human Rights scholar William Baptiste) and other peaceful Pro-Life Human Rights advocates can be arrested and imprisoned for saying “killing humans is wrong because Human Rights are for all humans” or for otherwise peacefully advocating for Equal Human Rights for All Humans in my country of Canada. I even gave a eulogy at the funeral of a 70-year-old tireless Human Rights for All Humans advocate who died while awaiting unjust trial after being arrested twice, just blocks away from the national Parliament buildings of our supposed democracy; arrested just for being a “known” tireless Human Rights for All Humans advocate, carrying signs reading “FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND RELIGION. NO CENSORSHIP” and “GOD SAVE OUR CHARTER RIGHTS.” Like in Nazi Germany, we do not have Free Speech and we have to watch what we say in Canada, because under current laws and policies passed by officially Pro-Choice political parties in Canada and some of her provinces since 2015, Canadians (including my fellow Canadian intellectual for Free Speech, the deeply thoughtful and rigorously intellectually honest Professor Jordan Peterson) can be arrested and charged even for speaking verifiable scientific facts which do not support various unscientific policies of Pro-Choice politicians and political parties in power. 

[NEWS FLASH UPDATE MARCH 2020: Canada's Pro-Choice (therefore unwittingly extremist) political parties have not yet learned the lesson that legal human-killing abortion and extremist totalitarian government naturally (and throughout history) go hand-in-hand. Instead, they have just set a new record for how fast they can take away normal democratic freedoms from Pro-Life Canadians who (unlike them) actually believe in The Foundational Principles of Human Rights and Democracy which include equal human preciousness and the Inherent Human Right to Live. A Pro-Choice MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) in yet another Canadian province submitted yet another totalitarian bill March 2 which was passed into (totalitarian) law by March 10. So yet another province in my country has introduced and passed yet another totalitarian law forbidding Free Speech on behalf of Equal Human Rights for All Humans precisely where such Human Rights advocacy is most pertinent, this time in only 8 days, from March 2-10, 2020 (it took a “whole” 3 weeks from October 4 to October 25, 2017 to introduce and pass the first law making it a crime to in any fashion advocate for Equal Human Rights for All Humans where most pertinent). Such Pro-Choice ‘Creeping Totalitarianism’ now rapidly accelerating is why well-read Canadian intellectuals like Jordan Peterson and myself, very familiar with totalitarian political extremism from both the political Left and Right (Leftist extremists murdered millions of my ethnic and religious background) perform the vital intellectual role of drawing out the (dreadful) historical significance of today’s news. Like the fact that today’s supposedly “Free West” is in ignorance emulating policies of extremist totalitarian States. The Soviet Socialist government which first legalized both abortion (in 1920) and the genocide of millions of my ethnic group (in 1932-33) also arrested people for speaking the truth about the legal human-killing, and I cannot help but notice that in Canada which follows the Soviet (and Nazi) precedents of legal human-killing abortion, I can also be arrested and imprisoned under current laws for speaking the truth (even verifiable scientific truth) about the legal human-killing. I cannot help but notice that even Science has become a crime when it does not support the various unscientific policies of today’s Pro-Choice political parties in power. END OF NEWS FLASH UPDATE] 

All bigotry is rooted in ignorance, and the Pro-Choice bigots passing laws against normal democratic Freedoms of Speech, Expression, Assembly, Conscience and Religion in my country are so woefully uneducated in Human Rights History (and Science and Logic) that they usually have no idea that the very first country to legalize abortion was the politically Extremist Left oppressive totalitarian Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, in 1920 – because they were evil and did not hold the Traditional Western Values which Free Democracy is built on like killing humans is wrong. This very same government that first legalized abortion also legalized the Holodomor (“Murder by Starvation”) Genocide of millions of my Ukrainian ethnic (and religious) heritage in 1932-33. This Genocide in flagrant disregard for Human Rights cannot be called truly surprising, since legal abortion had already established in the Soviet Union that there was no longer any legally recognized Inherent Human Right to Live, such as had generally been at least implicitly protected in the West (even in the womb) by law or custom since the 4th Century. 

But the Pro-Choice bigots taking away normal democratic freedoms in my country and worldwide so profoundly lack a solid Human Rights Education they usually also have no idea the second country to legalize abortion was Germany in 1934, under the politically Extremist Right National Socialist German Workers’ Party, more commonly known as the Nazi Party under Adolf Hitler’s control from July 29, 1921 until Hitler’s death on April 30, 1945. Just like the Extremist Left Soviet Union, Extremist Right Nazi Germany legalized human-killing by abortion – because they too were evil and did not hold the Traditional Western Values which Free Democracy is built on like killing humans is wrong– and once again legal abortion clearly established that there was no longer any legally recognized Inherent Human Right to Live in Nazi Germany. Like in the Soviet Union, legal abortion in Nazi Germany preceded legal genocide mass murder. The Soviet Holodomor Genocide of millions of my fellow Ukrainian humans was ending just as the Nazi Holocaust Genocide of millions of Jewish humans was getting started. Dachau, the first Nazi Concentration (Death) Camp opened within months of the end of the Holodomor Genocide in 1933. 

There is an international scholarly Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter I have been pleased to be involved with. I was the only doctoral student at the Ukrainian Canadian institution which hosted a 2012 international conference honoring the World War II era head of my Ukrainian Church, which the institute is named after, as a hero for his work saving Jewish lives during the Nazi occupation of Ukraine. The scholarly Ukrainian-Jewish Encounter is based on the fact that at around the same time, the Ukrainian and Jewish people, neither of which had been self-governing for centuries, suffered the two largest bigoted genocide mass murders of history, each genocide killing millions. The two biggest genocides of history, committed by the first two nations to legalize abortion, all because neither evil regime thought killing humans is wrong.

But the Pro-Choice bigots legislating away Free Speech and other democratic freedoms in my country and around the world are so woefully uneducated in Human Rights History, Science, and Logic that they even routinely deny well-established Science (like that preborn humans are humans) and do not even know enough Logic to know that every single argument they typically propose to “justify” legal human-killing by abortion is what the Science of Logic calls a fallacy of distraction which with immense intellectual dishonesty avoids the question of the Human Rights of the humans undisputedly killed in abortions, and effectively denies every statement of the perfectly scientifically sound logical syllogism all humans have Human Rights; preborn humans are humans; therefore, preborn humans have Human Rights:

• All humans have Human Rights. (Slaveowners, Nazis and Pro-Choicers all deny this by denying Human Rights to some humans.) 
• Preborn humans are humans.  (Unintelligent people who do not understand the science of the human lifecycle, and Pro-Choicers, deny this, even though to claim preborn humans have no Inherent Human Right to Live and can be killed by legal abortion logically means none of us, who all started our human lives as preborn humans, have any Inherent Human Right to Live – just like in the legal human-killing totalitarian States which first legalized abortion, which Pro-Choice politicians are making once-free democracies more and more like.)
• Therefore, preborn humans have Human Rights.  (Uneducated or mentally deficient people who do not know how to follow sound premises to sound conclusions, and Pro-Choicers, deny this.)

The Pro-Choice bigots now blithely dismantling democracy in their utter ignorance of Human Rights History (and Science and Logic) have named themselves well, for they are truly Pro-CHOICE. Like every other slave-owning or Nazi bigot, they ignore Science and Logic and CHOOSE just WHICH humans they think have equal value and equal rights with themselves, and they CHOOSE just WHICH humans they think do NOT have equal value and equal Human Rights. Pro-Choice bigots, just like the Soviet and Nazi bigots whose legal human-killing by abortion precedents they follow, CHOOSE just WHICH humans are protected from harm and WHICH humans can be legally killed (in contrast, healthy democracies at least implicitly recognize a governmental obligation to protect human lives which are equally precious, which is the reason humans get a vote or democratic say in their own governance in the first place). 

These Pro-Choice bigots, when they are politicians, just like the Soviet and Nazi bigots whose legal human-killing abortion example they follow, have similarly passed laws that arrest and jail those who dare to speak verifiable truth about the legal human-killing, or who stand up for the Inherent Human Right to Live of those humans who have been legally devalued by the government and killed in the millions.

The inescapable conclusion is that: In any democratic country where (just like in 1930s Europe before the Holocaust) it is considered a matter of “opinion” and “politics” whether or NOT one group of humans - like Jewish humans or preborn humans - have equal rights with other humans - especially an equal Human Right to Live, without which all other rights are meaningless - THAT COUNTRY HAS ALREADY LOST ITS DEMOCRATIC SOUL. That country has already lost its capacity to maintain Free Democracy long-term, and its democracy is under serious threat and cannot possibly last unless the essentially Pro-Life Equal Human Rights for All Humans societal mindset is restored, and the inherently bigoted (and inherently totalitarian and extremist) Pro-Choice(-to-Kill-Humans) mindset is finally abandoned by a country which truly wants Free Democracy to Last long-term - on Free Democracy’s historical and logical, Pro-Life foundations.

Since then human life from the womb in the West was generally protected by law or by custom, and Western (Christian) thinkers developed International Law specifically to protect the rights of humans everywhere (not just in Christian countries), which allowed the eventual development of modern Human Rights and modern Free Democracy built on the Traditional Western (Judeo-Christian) Pro-Life Family Values which Pro-Choice bigots hold in such low esteem that they would rather follow the example of the politically extremist and genocidal Soviet and Nazi bigots who were the very first political parties to legalize abortion, just because they rejected the foundations of Western Freedom and did not believe that killing humans is wrong. Pro-Choice bigots might be generally very “nice” people (to those humans they CHOOSE to recognize as humans with rights), but they are still bigots, and if they think it is unfair to call Pro-Choicers bigots they (especially the Pro-Choice bigot politicians) must take THE INTELLECTUAL HONESTY CHALLENGE on this website and in the book Pro-Life Equals Pro-Democracy, to see whether or not they can with intelligence and intellectual honesty justify remaining Pro-Choice in the face of the overwhelming facts of Human Rights History, Science and Logic contained in this author’s Pro-Life Equals Pro-Democracy and other books. If they cannot, then they must recant their previous Pro-Choice bigotry and start supporting Equal Human Rights for All Humans so that Free Democracy can last on its historical and logical Pro-Life foundations (as a Human Rights scholar and advocate for Equal Human Rights for All Humans, I would really like to get back my Free Speech to say “killing humans is wrong because Human Rights are for all humans” where it is most pertinent, without fearing arrest and imprisonment from the totalitarian laws passed in my country by ‘Creeping Totalitarian’ Pro-Choice bigot politicians).
